Abstract

The purpose of this study was to examine preservice teachers' perspectives on laptop integration in an elementary literacy methods course. Forty preservice teachers responded to a 31-item survey of Likert scale, multiple choice and open-ended questions, which were developed through analysis of the instructor's course journal. The paper presents descriptions of approaches used, results of the survey, instructor self-evaluation, and staff development opportunities that made this technology integration possible for a non-technology faculty member. Recommendations will be presented, so participants will be able to apply findings to improve their own programs.
